This is a perfect route to explore the immediate surrounding region of Garda by mountain bike. Short, challenging climbs, exciting descents and always fantastic views away from the busy main roads.

This tour takes you along quiet mountain roads, gravelled dirt tracks and some moderately stony sections through vineyards, olive groves and cypress-lined roads. Besides the never-ending stunning panoramas, this tour lets you experience the iconic Mediterranean feeling on a mountain bike all around. A good basic level of fitness is required for this tour, as there are some short but intense climbs. But we have planned the tour so that the tough climbs are always rewarded with the most spectacular views.

If you want to delve a little deeper into the culture of the area and don't want to miss out on the local specialities, there are two points to remember. Along the route, before and after the La Rocca viewing platform, there are two stops marked with dotted lines. One of them is the Camaldolese Monastery Eremo di San Giorgio and on the other hand the restaurant with authentic Italian cuisine Al Bersagliere. The Eremo di San Giorgio " is a monastery hidden in the mountains that runs a small shop selling the delicious extra virgin (cold pressed) olive oil produced by the Camaldolese monks. It is made from olives that come from the olive groves around the hermitage, some of which are centuries old. There is also a wide range of other monastery products such as various types of jam, honey, chocolate, teas, essential oils and much more. The opening hours of the monastery shop are usually from Easter to 30 September: On weekdays: 10.30-12.00 - 15.30-17.30; On holidays: 15.30-17.45 - 18.30-19.00; but if you are interested, please inform yourself on their" Website about the current opening hours.
The restaurant Al Bersagliere, which we can also highly recommend, is located along the route shortly after the La Rocca viewing platform and is therefore a perfect stopover for lunch. The family-run restaurant with moderate prices and authentic Italian cuisine offers the most popular delicacies of the region and obtains all ingredients "a chilometro zero", i.e. directly from the surroundings of Monte Baldo, which gives all recipies their distinctive delicious taste.
